The Crisis in Sudan
The humanitarian crisis in Sudan began in April 2023 when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), an armed militia, launched a rebellion against the state. Originally formed as a paramilitary group, the RSF’s actions quickly escalated into widespread conflict, impacting both urban and rural areas.
The fighting has led to mass displacement, with millions forced to flee their homes, and caused severe damage to infrastructure, including hospitals, markets, and water systems. The collapse of essential services, such as healthcare and food supply chains, has left countless people without access to basic necessities, plunging the country into one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.
The situation has created an urgent need for coordinated relief efforts to save lives, rebuild infrastructure, and support Sudan’s vulnerable communities during this devastating period.
